Separators
Purpose: To create space between adjacent teeth so that orthodontic bands may be fitted to the molar teeth.
- If a separator falls out, please contact our office. If it is over the weekend it is NOT an emergency, you may wait for Monday to call.
- Do not play with the separators. Keep your fingers out of your mouth.
- Brush normally, but DO NOT floss in the areas where the separators are located.
- No gum or sticky foods after insertion of the separators, such items can pull them out.
- It is normal for the separators to feel loose or mobile.
- If there is any discomfort, please feel free to use Advil or Motrin as needed.
