Separators

Purpose: To create space between adjacent teeth so that orthodontic bands may be fitted to the molar teeth.

1. If a separator falls out, please contact our office. If it is over the weekend it is NOT an emergency, you may wait for Monday to call.
2. Do not play with the separators. Keep your fingers out of your mouth.
3. Brush normally, but DO NOT floss in the areas where the separators are located.
4. No gum or sticky foods after insertion of the separators, such items can pull them out.
5. It is normal for the separators to feel loose or mobile.
6. If there is any discomfort, please feel free to use Advil or Motrin as needed.
