I absolutely love being an orthodontist! When I was little, I was very self-conscious about my teeth, and orthodontic treatment gave me a smile I can feel confident about. That is exactly what I love doing for other people. Giving kids a smile they can feel good about is an incredible feeling. And for adults who have lived their whole lives feeling self-conscious about their teeth, I love reminding them that it is never too late for a smile transformation!
I believe that a smile is the most beautiful thing we can wear. I LOVE helping people achieve a smile that they feel good about because the world can always use more smiles. Here at Dr. Doug’s office, we truly care about our patients, and our team works together to make the orthodontic experience easy and fun for all the kids and adults who come to see us.
EDUCATION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION
I grew up in Sandy Lake, and attended Lakeview High School where I met my husband, Dan. After high school, I attended Slippery Rock University for three years and studied biology. After getting married in March 2008, Dan and I moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina where he was stationed as a soldier in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
I completed my fourth year of undergraduate studies at Methodist University in Fayetteville, and then attended dental school at West Virginia University. I graduated in May 2013 with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Afterward, I completed a 30-month orthodontic residency at Seton Hill University in Greensburg to earn my Master of Science in Orthodontics.
As an orthodontic specialist, I understand the importance of continuing education. As technology advances, there is always more to learn! Patients deserve to know that their orthodontist is staying up to date on the newest techniques and technology available in the field.

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE
In 2015, Dan and I moved back to Sandy Lake, and we are very happy to be living in western Pennsylvania near our family and friends! We have three precious kiddos: Keira, Carter, and Connor. Outside of work, I love reading, spending time with my family, watching our kids grow, taking long walks, and attending church at Cochranton Community Church.
I also enjoy volunteering at events like the Mission of Mercy in Pennsylvania, Team Smile, and Sealant Saturday. It is so rewarding to be able to give back and help out around the community.
